Likud opposes continuing peace negotiations with Syria
Syria-Israel, Politics, 1/14/2000
Israel Radio quoted Israeli Interior Minister Natan Sharansky as saying in an address he delivered yesterday that long-term plans must be made for establishing confidence relations between Israel and Syria, after which it will possible to resume the peace process with Syria.
The Likud Party said that the refusal of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to reveal the US document for settling the discussions in the negotiations between Israel and Syria proves that there are things Barak wants to hide.
Danny Naveh, head of the negotiation team in Likud, said in a statement issued today that Barak failed in his mission because he could not in concluding the two rounds of negotiations get any information concerning the destiny of the missing Israeli soldiers.
