Security siege for northern Algeria

Algerian security forces intensified their presence in northern Algeria in the Jijel area and in other areas in which members of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) practice their activities.
This group is blamed for many of the massacres in Algeria during the last eight years.
Algerian sources in Cairo said today that the troops benefited from the GIA members who surrendered under the Algerian civil concord law, as they told the troops about their hidden locations, plans and weapons.
