State Sovereignty's upper hand, not lenient with criminals
Egypt, Politics, 1/13/2000
Prime Minister Ebeid asserted that the State's sovereignty has the upper hand and is not lenient with criminals. He added that the State is going to provide all harmed people in Al-Kusheh village with compensations, ranging between LE 1000 and LE 5000. Moreover, the State will also build houses and shops for those who lost sources of earning their living.
In statements to the opposition newspaper Al-Wafd, Ebeid said that a program will be worked out to eliminate reasons for trouble at the political, social, economic, security and religious levels.
He called on sheikhs and clergymen and social and political figures to do their best to prevent the recurrence of such trouble.
Ebeid said that the program will be brought before political parties to participate in discussing it. "Egypt has been for the past 7,000 years the only country where various ethnic and religious groups have coexisted peacefully," he added.
