Morocco gets 50 million euro donation from European Union
Morocco-European Union, Economics, 1/13/2000
The European Commission will extend Morocco a 50 million euro-donation to support the country's social and economic reforms, says a statement of the European Commission in Rabat.
The donation is the third part of a global amount of 120 million euro earmarked as part of a European Union program to support the Moroccan economy.
The EU program means to support economic and social reforms that will help Morocco's preparation of the creation by 2010 of a free trade zone provided for in the association agreement between Morocco and the European Union.
Europe disbursed the first installment, worth 30 million euros, in 1997 and the second 40 million euro-worth installment in 1998.
