Minister represents Morocco in Guatemalan president's swearing-in
Morocco-Guatemala, Politics, 1/13/2000

Communication Minister Mohamed Larbi Messari is visiting Guatemala this Thursday and Friday to represent Morocco in the swearing-in ceremony of new president, Alfonso Portillo, who was elected last December.

The Moroccan delegation also comprises the ambassador in Mexico.

An official source said Messari's visit to Guatemala is part of the consolidation of Morocco's relations with Latin American countries.

An action program signed in 1998 gave a new impetus to these relations, and opened the way for the conclusion of a series of political, economic and cultural agreements with several countries in Latin America.
