Lebanese minister assures correlation of Lebanese and Syrian tracks
Lebanon, Politics, 1/12/2000

Lebanese Minister of State for Administrative Reform Affairs Hassan Shalaq said that the Lebanese negotiating track with Israel will not start as long as Syrian - Israeli negotiations haven't achieved any progress, emphasizing the unity of tracks and destiny between Syria and Lebanon.

He also demanded that Israel withdraw from the Syrian Golan and south Lebanon.

The Lebanese minister accused Israel side of manipulation and retreating from the "withdrawal deposit" which the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin commited to.

Shalaq denied that there are any pressures on Lebanon to resume the Lebanese negotiations, saying that all the Arab, Islamic and European states support the Lebanese and the Syrians concerning this matter.
