Lebanese president denounces Barak's policy

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has denounced the policy pursued by the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak during the recent peace negotiations in Shepherdstown.
During his meeting with consuls accredited to Lebanon in Beirut on Tuesday, the Lebanese president said that contrary to what Israel thinks, time is now in favor of Lebanon and that Syrian-Lebanese coordination is sufficient to prevent "penetrations and shortcomings."
The Lebanese president indicated the recent incidents that took place in the al-Dinnieh district in northern Lebanon, saying that violating internal security in Lebanon irrespective of its causes and sources serves Israel, especially at the current time.
Lahoud continued, "The main and real venue of martyrdom is in resisting the Israeli occupation in south Lebanon and the Western Bekaa," adding that there was an all-out Lebanese condemnation of the violators of internal security in Lebanon."
The Lebanese president asserted the importance of maintaining Lebanese awareness which is the guarantor of averting dangers and realizing obligations of the forthcoming stage.
