Weizman eager to achieve peace with Syria

Israeli President Ezer Weizman has expressed in a speech he delivered on Tuesday before students in Abou Ghoush village in Jerusalem district on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, his hope of achieving peace with Syria as it had been realized with both Egypt and Jordan.
Weizman also expressed his hope of visiting Damascus for the second time as he had visited it when he was 15. He also expressed hopes that the coming generation will cultivate the fruits of peace and economic progress and prosperity and that their lives will be much better than those of their fathers and grandfathers.
Israeli Radio reported that Weizman extended his congratulations to Muslims who celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Egypt, Jordan, Syria and the Palestinian territories.
