Masalha: Arabs and Israel restart relations with talks
Syria-Regional, Politics, 1/12/2000
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Nawaf Maslha has stated that the current progress on the Syrian and Israeli negotiation tracks has resulted in reactivating relations between Israel and several Arab and Islamic states, including Mauritania, Oman, Qatar and Tunisia.
In statements quoted on Tuesday by Israeli Radio, Maslha added that he felt during his recent meetings with high-ranking officials at the Omani Foreign Ministry a change in the attitude towards Israel.
He expressed his belief that peace with Syria will be achieved before next summer, a matter which will open the way before the establishment of relations with the majority of the Arab states.
