New Egyptian delegation for following investigation into EgyptAir crash
Egypt, Local, 1/11/2000
Mohammed Fahim Rayan, head of the EgyptAir company, stated that an EgyptAir Boeing 727 jet crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on October 31, 1999 because the airplane's tail fell off, but he did not clarify whether the tail fell off due to deliberate work by external fronts.
He said that a new team of the company's officials will head to New York to join the Egyptian investigation team already there to follow up on the investigation into the incident.
Rayan added that EgyptAir will open the largest center for aviation service in the Middle East in April at a cost of $150 million to maintain EgyptAir's airplanes and the airplanes affiliated to the international airlines working in the area.
