Israel delays release of Lebanese prisoners

The committee in charge of following up on the conditions of the Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails on Monday confirmed that the release of about 20 prisoners from Khiam prison was delayed due to complications raised in this respect.
In a statement issued in Beirut on Monday, the follow-up committee said that is the first time that the release process has faced complications. Lebanese security sources said that the release was due to have taken place before Eid al-Fitr.
Israel detains some 150 Lebanese citizens in Khiam prison in the occupied part of south Lebanon.
