Snows block Damascus- Beirut road

Lebanese security forces have closed the Beirut-Damascus international highway at the mountainous city of Soufer due to the heavy snowfall at Daher- al-Beidar- al-Mdeiraj point.
The Lebanese International Airport weather forecast department said that Lebanon still undergoes low air pressure which controls the eastern side of the Mediterranean, accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain and snowfall on heights above 800 meters.
The Lebanese department indicated that the amounts of rain that fell in Lebanon this season surpassed the amounts registered for the same period last year.
