Knesset member: Barak misleads the Israelis
Israel, Politics, 1/11/2000

Member of the Israeli Knesset for the Likud Party Uzi Landau said on Monday in a statement quoted by Israeli Radio that the Israeli Radio chaired by Prime Minister Ehud Barak is "misleading" the Israelis because it had committed to withdrawal from the Golan until June 4, 1967 border lines.

Israeli Radio, added that organizers of a vast demonstration for the Israeli settlers in the Golan, who oppose withdrawal from the Golan which was due later in the day Monday in Tel Aviv announced that they will not permit politicians, including the chairman of the Likud party, Ariel Sharon, to deliver speeches opposing withdrawal from the Golan during the demonstrations.

The chairman of the board of Katsrein settlement in the occupied Golan, Sasi Barleive, stated that the organizers of the demonstration seek not to give political dimensions to it, and therefore it was decided that Sharon, who was invited to take part in the demonstration, will not make a speech during it.
