President Arafat hails King Mohammed's backing to Palestinians

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat hailed the constant backing extended by King Mohammed VI to the Palestinians "to help them recover their legitimate and inalienable rights, including their right to return, to self-determination and to statehood with Al-Quds Asharif (Jerusalem) as capital."

This came in a congratulation message President Arafat sent to King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Aid Al-Fitr celebrated over the weekend.

Arafat also expressed to the king his "pride of the brotherly ties" binding Morocco and Palestine.

"The Palestinian people, who chose the path of peace, aspire to the backing of all their brothers and friends as of all the powers working for peace to help them build and develop their nation and establish a peace of braves, a just and full peace in the region, guaranteeing security and stability and consecrating the Palestinian people's right to independence on its own territory like all the peoples of the world," Arafat said.
