Denial of Iranian accusations against Syria

The office of the Qatari al-Jazira TV satellite station in Tehran on Sunday denied news reported by al-Jazira TV station that the spiritual guide of the Iranian revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, described the Syrian-Israeli negotiations as "a great treason against the Arabs and Muslims."

It was learnt that al-Jazira TV station quoted these statements which were attributed to Khamanei from an uncredible wire report. It was learned that Khamanei has not stated such words as neither the Iranian media nor the foreign correspondents accredited in Tehran gave mention of the wire report quoted by al-Jazira TV station.

Iran denied yesterday remarks attributed to Imam Ali Khamenei. A statement by the Iranian embassy in Damascus assured Iranian people and government for the Syrian leadership's steadfastness and its wisdom as well as its stances out of dignity toward the occupation.

News reports in Tehran said that the aim of this news report was behind promoting false news to damage Syrian-Iranian relations.
