Some 90% of Moroccan women suffer from iron deficiency
Morocco, Health, 1/6/2000
An alarming rate of 90% of Moroccan women suffer from iron deficiencies, says the Moroccan Medical Information Association.
These deficiencies recognized as diseases of hidden hunger affect mostly pregnant women, children, teenagers and old people.
The association says the solution is to enrich food with vitamins A and D and group B vitamins.
It also calls the Moroccan government and non-governmental circles to adopt a global strategy to enrich staple food and to undertake information activities on substances the human body needs to end this kind of disease.
