Egyptian, UAE efforts to convene a plenary Arab summit

Consultations have been made between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt over Arab developments especially the issue of convening a plenary Arab summit.

News reports in Abu Dhabi said that UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed al-Nahyan will visit Egypt today and will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Sharm El-Sheikh and will hand him a message from UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan.

On Tuesday night President Mubarak made a telephone call with Sheikh Zayed, during which discussions dealt with Arab developments and efforts made to convene an Arab summit as well as cooperation relations between the two countries.

In the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, President Mubarak, visited the UAE in the course of a Gulf tour that covered Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.
