Israeli Knesset member confers with King Abdullah
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 1/6/2000
An Israeli Knesset member from the United Arab List, Ahmad Tibi, said that King Abdullah II of Jordan has asserted to him that peace in the Middle East cannot be established without solving the essence of the conflict, which is the cause of Palestine.
In an interview with Israeli Radio on Wednesday after Tibi had returned from Amman where he met with King Abdullah, he added, "King Abdullah backs Israel's complete withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories occupied in 1967 including south Lebanon, the Golan and the West Bank."
Tibi continued: "I heard from the king a clear stand that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak should back the Palestinian tracks because it is the essence of the conflict and the most important in the question of the Middle East peace."
