Al-Kosheh residents thank Mubarak for restoring calm to their village

Residents of the upper Egyptian village of Al-Kosheh, the site of recent unrest, thanked President Hosni Mubarak for his sincere concern and for restoring calm to their village.
Minister of Local Development Mustafa Abdel Kader, who arrived on Tuesday to the village conveyed the President's condolences to the families of the victims and to governor Ahmed Bakr.
The Minister said it was a passing incident between two moderate residents of the village, deteriorated as a result of spontaneous and unplanned reactions into unrest. "People, there, reacted unaware of the nature of the incident," he added.
The Minister expounded that Bishop Wissa and all clergy of the local church expressed their understanding to the passing incident, saying it was the result of spontaneous tense reactions. They affirmed their full cooperation to contain the situation.
The Minister made clear that the security position is good and under full control, with popular, governmental and security efforts cooperating under the governor to restore calm to the village.
