King Mohammed attends Night of Destiny in Rissani

King Mohammed VI, commander of the faithful, attended Tuesday night a religious ceremony held in commemoration of the eve of Ramadan 27 at Moulay Ali Mausoleum in Rissani.
Moulay Ali (1610-1664), the founder of the Alawit dynasty is a descendant of the prophet Sidna Mohammed. He was dispatched to the Maghreb region to disseminate Islam.
The sovereign also handed out fast-braking meals to needy families in the region.
In the city, the king launched works for the restoration of two architectural monuments: the Moulay Abdelkrim Kasbah and Ksar Targa for a total cost of $1.3 million.
In the Moulay Abdlekrim Kasbah (10,400 square meters), restoration works, estimated at $600,000 will cover sanitation, walls consolidation and coating and restoring roofs.
The rehabilitation project in Ksar Targa, a typical housing of the region, will cover around 170 lodgings at a cost of $700,000.
The king also visited the rehabilitated Ksar El Fida, 12,500 square meters. Works cost $180,000.
