Weizman refuses to present his resignation

Israeli President Ezer Weizman refused the increasing pressures on him to present his resignation following accusations addressed to him of receiving financial gifts from Edward Saros, a French businessman. The Israeli president said he does not intend to resign and that he will overcome these difficult circumstances.
Weizman was accused of getting more than $400,000 US from Saros from 1988 - 1993 when he was a member of the Knesset and a minister in the government.
