El-Mahdi raises program for supporting Libyan - Egyptian initiative

El-Sadek El-Mahdi, chief of the opposition Sudanese Ummah Party, emphasized that the internal situation in Sudan, the regional and international situations give a bigger chance for the Libyan - Egyptian initiative to achieve its goals.

In this text, a program was raised to motivate the initiative in the coming stage to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Sudanese problem.

This came during a Ramadan breakfast party in El-Mahdi's house.

This program includes forming a secretariat for the initiative that represents Egypt and Libya, in which a representative of the IGAD (Inter-Governmental Authority on Development) countries would participate, and forming a Sudanese consulting committee to support the secretariat.

The committee would make direct communications with parties in the Sudanese conflict then it would decide on the place and time as well as the agenda of the collective constitutional national conference and issue a declaration on the comprehensive political solution to be a guide in the conference.
