Egypt participates in meetings of the Indian Ocean Assembly

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa will head Egypt's delegation to the exceptional ministerial meeting for countries of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC), which includes 14 countries, scheduled for January 22 and 23 in Muscat.

The ministerial meeting will be proceeded by a meeting of high-ranking officials on January 21 and 22, as Egypt's delegate will be Nagi El Ghatrifi, the assistant foreign minister for Asian affairs.

El Ghatrifi said it is decided to convene with the meeting of the high-ranking officials a special committee for revitalizing trade, investment and tourism, in which experts from the member states will participate.

He added that the ministerial meeting will witness rituals for joining the members partners (Egypt and Japan) in the discussions of the assembly in addition to ranking a work program for the assembly.
