Mubarak urges heads of COMESA states to attend Cairo summit

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak addressed an invitation to Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi, the current chairman of COMESA (the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa), and Zambian President Frederick Chiluba as the head of the country in which COMESA's headquarters are located to attend the first economic conference which will be opened by President Mubarak, in which he will deliver an important statement.

The two-day conference will take place during February in Cairo.

Ibrahim Ali Hassan, Egypt's assistant foreign minister for African affairs, said that nearly 60 foreign, finance, trade and economy ministers, in addition to heads of international corporations and 1,000 businessmen and representatives of the private sector in Egypt and the COMESA countries, will attend the conference.
